MK16IQ Series Positioner Set-up Guide
The Mark 15 Series is a line of compact instruments which incorporates a single-axis, force-balance principle of operation to ensure accurate and stable control valve positioning. In all cases, including bottom-loading applications, a MK15 is mounted directly on the topworks of the valve, with no external levers or other exposed mechanisms. Each positioned receives a signal from a control instrument, and using an air supply as high as 45 psig (3,4 bar), the positioned strokes the valve actuator to the required position
The primary module of the Mark 16IQ is the electronic board comprised of the microprocessor, along with the indicating and control elements. The unit is designed so that optional modules for alarms and position feedback are easily plugged in or snapped on. The current command is compared to the internal position feedback signal. By comparing the input and feedback signals, an adaptive controller determines the positioning signal, which follows an optimized algorithm. The parameters for this algorithm are determined from valve and actuator characteristics analyzed during initialization and as modified during the real-time performance of the actuator. The MK16IQ will identify and optimize each valve’s specific performance characteristics.
The Mark 708 was developed to provide the most accurate control available for fractional flow services: whether for pilot plant installations, test stands, R & D facilities or for specialized processes such as dosing, injection and venting applications. With Cv’s ranging from 0.00001 to 4.0 available in 1/4″ through 3/4″ line sizes (0,000009 to 3,4 Kv in sizes DN8 through DN20), the Mark 708 offers design features that will provide enhanced performance to insure precision control on your most critical micro-flow applications.
Mark 708DP Series – The Mark 708 with double packing is an alternative to a bellows stem seal and is used when standard packing will not adequately contain the controlled media. The optional bonnet features a double packing arrangement separated by a lantern ring. With a double packed bonnet, lubricant is pumped into the packing sets, supplying a tight seal similar to that provided by a bellows stem seal. The double packed bonnet is an excellent choice when service conditions could cause damage to a bellows assembly.
The 8000 Series the bellow stem seals eliminates fugitive emissions by surrounding the valve with a pressure-tight barrier, isolating the stem from the process fluid and preventing leakage to the atmosphere. For an extra measure of protection, the bellows stem seal option provides a back-up seal of Teflon, braided or Graphite/Grafoil packing.
